Winter Pool Kayak Sessions
When the lake is frozen and it’s just too cold outside to paddle Seabirds has the solution for keeping ‘paddle fit’ in the winter months. Pool sessions are the answer.
Want to keep your paddling skills up? Interested in learning self-rescues and learning how to rescue your paddling friends? Want to experience kayaking before hitting the water? If yes, then these sessions are for you.
Each class is tailored to meet your paddling goals be it stroke refinement, self or group rescues or adaptive paddling. The courses are available for all paddlers from beginner to advanced kayakers.
Dates available year round upon request minimum two weeks notice required to reserve the pool.
Cost: 2-4 participants- $45 per person
$75 pp private session 1:1

Kayak Safety and Rescue Clinics
Do you paddle alone? Are you able to get back into your boat unassisted? Do you paddle with friends? Have you practiced rescuing each other? Do you know how to swim with your boat in the event you aren’t able to ‘self rescue’? If you are new to kayak safety then this is a course for you!
You will gain confidence in your rescue techniques as we learn:
- Wet exits and cowboy rescue- aka self rescue
- T, assisted rescues, scoop and heel hook
- Contact tow, towing with towlines, boat over boat rescues
- How to swim with our boats and back deck rescues
This course is designed for people with basic paddling skills* (can paddle forward, backward and side to side).
